Parel:
Parel is a southern area in Mumbai, and is also termed as Lower Parel. Mumbai is formed by the combination of seven islands and Parel is one of them. The name Parel is derived from 'The Parali Vaijanath Mahadev Temple' which is dedicated to lord Shiva.
When Portuguese ruled over Bombay, they gave the authority of this area to Jesuit priests, he replaced the temple of Mahadev with a Churchand Convent. Features of Parel:
